Massage
Massage has been available at Viney Hall Physiotherapy for several years and is useful in conjunction with physiotherapy or on its own.
Soft-tissue massage is often used by the physiotherapists as part of their treatment, in conjunction with joint mobilisation and other modalities. However, some people enjoy a massage alone, performed by a dedicated massage therapist.
Reflexology has been available at Viney Hall Physiotherapy in the past, but is currently not available. If there is sufficient demand we may offer the service again in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will happen when I arrive?
You will receive your consultation in a private room. You will be asked a few questions about your health and your massage requirements will be discussed.
What do I need to wear?
It doesn't really matter what you wear. Your massage therapist will ask you to remove your clothing, leaving the room whilst you do so. You will be provided with towels to preserve your modesty at all times.
I have had a massage before which was too hard/too soft. Will this happen again?
The massage will be performed just how you would like it. You are encouraged to discuss your requirements and must tell your therapist if you would like a firmer or more gentle pressure. Communication is the key to a successful treatment.
Testimonials
Georgia Stevens currently lives in the Forest and is a self-employed dog-walker. She played rugby for Lydney, Clifton and England , winning 71 caps as a back-row forward.
“For me, it’s all about recovery. After a big game a massage helps the body get over the stress so I can get back to training straight away. Equally, a massage can really help before a game, both physically and mentally. Bob has been an essential part of my training program for many years. If you need a massage therapist, I can recommend Bob."
Peter Rogers is an active 50 year old from Alvington. He has been a self-employed stonemason since 1981 specialising in restoration and landscaping. He has played village football for the past 30 years and is chairman of Woolaston F.C. He has recently been doing more hill-walking and less football. Earlier this year he made it to the top of Kilimanjaro.
“My work is physically demanding and Bob is good for helping cope with the twinges and aches that happen from time to time. I can’t afford to stop so getting good advice and a relieving massage is essential. Bob helps me decide what my body can do and I would not have got 6000 metres up a mountain without his expertise.”
